How to verify any contractor in Accra
- Ask for their contractor classification certificate — unregistered contractors have no formal accountability
- Request a fully itemised written quote — any contractor who refuses has something to hide
- Speak directly to two previous clients whose projects you can verify
- Demand a fixed-price signed contract before any deposit changes hands
- Confirm a written warranty of at least 6 months from handover
Never pay more than 30% upfront. A legitimate contractor has supplier relationships that allow mobilisation without a full advance payment. Any demand for 50%+ upfront is a serious warning sign.
